Other characters: Koh (OC)
IC INFO
Name: Dante
Canon/Continuity: Devil May Cry
Reference: The coolest loser you ever did see
Canon Point: Devil May Cry 3; before the final fight with Vergil
Personality: A cool, yet arrogant demon hunter who's the son of a legendary demon, Sparda. Sparda fought a bunch of demons to protect humans from them, so now almost every demon ever hates Sparda and his legacy forever, which included his lover, Eva, and his twin sons, Dante and Vergil. Sparda sealed himself away, the demons killed Eva and the twins were pretty divided after that traumatic incident in their lives.
Where Vergil blamed that incident on the weakness of humans, Dante blamed it on the demons themselves and vowed to protect humans, just as his father did. He does this, of course, through a series of impossibly stylish combos involving big swords, lots of guns and unconventional weaponry. And his demonic power, of course. The main traits with this canon point are the fact that he hasn't yet suffered the loss of his brother, so he's particularly arrogant and childish and still immature (more than usual, anyway). He has grown somewhat before the final fight, at least, in befriending Lady and taking responsibility for his brother's actions that triggered the entire game's story.
However, he's still very much a little shit. Flirty, childish and never afraid to taunt an enemy, even when they tower him in size. He does like to talk, but his inhuman strength and combat ability make him capable of living up to his threats. In fact, Dante looks like he doesn't take anything seriously most of the time. Even in combat, where he's usually strong enough to kill an enemy in one hit, he vastly prefers toying with enemies and focusing more on stylish flair, which he succeeds in with remarkable skill.
But there lies actual character beneath the devil may care attitude and the showoff who likes having fun. He's capable of being serious when the time calls for it and will usually get serious when speaking about his family. He also has a strong sense of justice and will fight to do the right thing, even if his behavior makes him seem unreliable. In fact, he's a downright cool guy with high values towards family and friends and will fight with his life to protect them. Just don't count on seeing the sentimental side of him very often.
AU or OC Info: Straight up canon
Sample: A not-so legal way of dealing with boredom
